The 630D, 635D, and the 640D Draper models can be equipped with an integral, slow-speed transport system.
In field mode, the dual wheels become the left- and right-hand gauge wheels. For transport, the left-hand dual-dolly wheels support one side of the draper frame and the right-hand dual wheels are repositioned to support the right-hand end of the frame.
The transport package includes warning lights, which can be plugged into a seven-way power source for road transport with a 32.2-km/h (20-mph) speed limit for farm equipment transport.
NOTE: The 630D, 635D, and the 640D Drapers are equipped with two 20.5 x 8.0 12-ply equivalent gauge wheel tires as base equipment and four 20.5 x 8.0 12-ply equivalent gauge wheels with the low-speed transport option.
The unique dual-knife-drive system is timed, creating the smoothest-possible reciprocating knife-drive system currently in the industry. The positive, reliable shaft-driven dual epicyclical in-line knife drives with built-in driveline protection provide operators with the strongest knife-drive system.
All John Deere 600D Drapers include a double-cut knife which features a hydraulic tilt that is controlled from inside the cab. All 10.6-m (35-ft) and 12.1-m (40-ft) draper cutterbars also have knifeback reinforcement straps to strengthen the knifeback.
The 100-mm (4-in.) cutting action produces a cleaner cut versus the tearing effect of shorter-stroke cutting systems. Knife hold-downs are easily adjusted to help maintain harvesting performance.
The cutterbar hydraulic tilt adjusts a full 8 degrees while maintaining excellent visibility to the cutterbar throughout the tilt range. For improved ease of use the optional advanced hydro handle can be configured to control the platform tilt.
Reel resume and reverse are features on the 600D Drapers. The combine operator can store two different reel positions with one setting for normal conditions and another for down, tangled, short, leaning crops.

In certain field conditions, when harvesting with 600 Series cutting platforms attached to pre-60 Series combines equipped with tall drive tires (for example, 35.5x32-in. or 42-in. dual wheels), it may not be possible to obtain the desired or optimum cutting bar angle. This is due to the extreme height of the drive tires, especially if used in conjunction with the tall 18.4x30 or 28Lx26 high-flotation rear steering tires.
The wedge kit allows the lower frame of the platform to be tilted upward to any one of three different degrees when attached to the combine so the desired cutter bar angle adjustment can be obtained.
The following chart and illustration below can be used to help determine if the wedge kit is required on the platform for the combine being used.
Position machine on flat level ground with platform removed.
Position feederhouse so face is perpendicular to the ground. To check this, a bubble level can be placed on the face of the feederhouse.
Measure distance (A) between the center of feederhouse drive shaft and the ground.
Compare dimension to table and determine amount of wedge angle required.
Three programmable reel position settings will optimize platform performance while minimizing header losses. The operator can preselect three different reel positions for specific field conditions and can access these while harvesting, simply by touching the activation buttons on the multifunction hydro handle.
Adjust the reel height and fore-aft position to an optimal position then press the 1, 2, or 3 button on the multifunction control lever until arrows on each side of the symbol indicates that the system is active. This will save that reel position for that button which can be done for each number on the handle.
The optional dual zone float kit provides better platform balance for a more accurate cut height right to left. The dual zone system allows the operator to independently adjust float pressure to the right and left float cylinders. Independent float cylinders adjustments allow the platform to tilt independently or in conjunction with the feederhouse.
The feed drum anti-wrap attachment is recommended for tall, damp crop conditions to reduce drum wrapping. The attachment consists of two brackets that mount near the outer edge of the feed drum and reduce the likelihood of crop wrapping around the drum.
All reels feature a low-profile pickup design to allow gentle entry into the crops to reduce shatter loss. However, in some conditions, the reel may wrap crop material, limiting the draper's capacity, and may increase losses at the reel. There is a pan design called the end shield that prevents the reel from getting into the divider point.
A field-installed attachment is available for the 635D, 630FD, and 635FD single poly-tine along with the 640D and 640FD two-piece poly-tine reels to reduce reel wrapping and prevent the reel from getting into the divider point.
The reel tine flip-over attachment makes it so the reel fingers point upward when completing the rotation at the top of the reel, instead of pointing to the ground.
